Unexpected surprise

So I go to the mailbox today -- and there's a royalty check for Dark Delicacies!  Three years later the anthology is not only still in print, it's paying it's contributors royalties.  Okay, it was only $38.00.  But what a cool way to make $38.00!

In other news, I had a great day writing today.  It was one of those days where words just flowed out of my fingers onto the page -- and I really liked them.  I hope whatever or whoever I was channeling comes back tomorrow.  And the next day, and the next, but writing was really, really fun today.

So my new moon goal is 15,000 words.  I'm 5,000 in.  I think it's a doable goal.  Wouldn't it be fun if I beat it?

"The Fall" is online

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that my story "The Fall" which appears in the Dark Delicacies anthology, is available online as a preview of the book.

This is the second story used as a preview.  The other is my infamous hammer story "A Building Desire" in Hot Blood 13: Dark Passions.

For a person who sells stories to a print magazine, I sure am showing up on the internet.  Crazy.

Hot Blood XIII is out!

I couldn't wait to get my contributors copy so I ran out to Borders to pick it up.  It's a great looking trade paperback and I am, indeed, the lead story in the book.  WHOO HOO!

The back cover also leads with my story description:  A woman with a wayward husband discovers a final way to nail him once and for all...

I love it.

On September 9 at 2:00 at Dark Delicacies in Burbank a group of us will be gathering to sign both Hot Blood and the mass paperback edition of Dark Delicacies (the anthology).  So if there's anyone out there in the LA area, please stop by.  It promises to be quite a party.

This from the Cemetary Dance Web site:

"The interior pages for Dark Delicacies have been designed and the book is currently being proofread. The signature sheets were printed by our specialty color printer who handled the sig sheets for The Secretary of Dreams and those sheets are now traveling the country to the authors. The interior artwork has been assigned to thirteen of our favorite artists: Alan M. Clark, Keith Minnion, Glenn Chadbourne, Allen Koszowski, Jill Bauman, Erik Wilson, Russell Dickerson, gak, Will Renfro, Alex McVey, Vincent Chong, Steve Gilberts, and Chad Savage."

I know the signature pages are traveling because I currently have them -- all 800.  I think my hand is going to fall off.  It is, however, very exciting because they're for the two limited editions coming out from Cemetary Dance:  Limited Edition of 500 signed and slipcased copies, signed by many of the authors ($150) and Traycased Lettered Edition of 52 signed and lettered copies bound in leather with a satin ribbon page marker and additional artwork ($450).
